Everything is getting easier.  The pain of novelty is slowly fading. Those chance events, striating bodies are healing.  looking at my belly, watching it raise like a small mound and flatten like it was commanded, I think of Jonah.  Screaming, “Where is the light!  I will not touch these disgusting walls.”  Jonah, now left to wander in the pit of a stomach.  Inside the pearly substance of its belly, Jonah wanders inside the configuration known as teleology: destruction and creation.  There he is, now: Trying to understand the body of a whale, Jonah is trying escape.  Again: Trying to understand his own body, Jonah keeps his distance from the whale.  There is Jonah, inside a whale.

The novelty of bodies colliding, fading, Jonah now lies motionless.  He has now given-in, to the subject of demand.  The demand from the belly to rest.  Jonah, listening inside the belly of the beast, hears noises which cannot be fathomed.  The rings of infinity crossing like valuable metals, the squaring of all sets trying to make the present as presentable as possible.  There Jonah sits, at the dinner table awaiting the arrival of a guest.  He finishes folding the napkins and fixes his tie in the mirror.  Then enters the guest, her name is EVERYTHING.  The whale has invited her in, and likewise, has already shown her around.

Jonah!  So unbelievable, a man with such a desire for life!  Watching and waiting.  While being so disgusted, he has found home, inside the beast.

EVERYTHING, makes the first move, asking “What have you prepared for me, Jonah?  Am I late?”  She makes way to small table, with two place-mats, and one rose.  Cautiously she sits down, while Jonah follows her every move, he is watching so closely, it looks like he sees through her.  “It isn’t much.  If I had more time, perhaps . . . ,” he begins.  “Perhaps, I would have sent for something.”  EVERYTHING graciously nods, realizing the softness in Jonah’s voice, she feels awkward to to ask him anything else.

“So what do you think of the place?” Jonah asks.  “I’m surprised you made it at all.”
